1) Giving chocolate and sweets creates an emotional connection between the giver and their customers and staff which builds loyalty… for example chocolates and sweets included with online sales, thank you chocolates and sweets at the end of a meal, a sweet treat with a cup of coffee or tea, refreshing welcome mints in a Reception area etc etc.
2) Chocolates and sweets bring people together and are a safe and creative way to stay connected… giving seasonal, celebratory chocolates and sweets individually or gift packaged as letterbox gifts, in organza bags, sachets or tins… creates a bond and results in emotional wellbeing.
3) Chocolate and confectionery have contributed massively to emotional wellbeing during the pandemic, helping to bring joy and happiness over the last 12 months.
REPORT REVIEW PART 2 – THE STATE OF TREATING 2021

Certainly chocolates and sweets are as important as ever for celebrating everyday and special occasions too… the togetherness, sharing and gifting that are all rooted in emotional well-being. as the report states:

We’ve seen this ourselves at Delvaux over the last year with our own seasonally themed chocolate and sweet range.
As our customers are looking forward to the Easter holiday period, ordering Easter-themed personalised square Neapolitan chocolates and individually wrapped candy-coated mini-Easter eggs to give to their customers with online and high street orders, take-aways, welcome back promotions etc… so we can look back over a year of colourful seasonal designs for Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Chinese New Year, New Year and Christmas, Halloween and Eid Mubarak.
We’ve also introduced a new range of fantastic “Welcome Back!” designs which are perfect for reopening and expanding businesses and organisations welcoming back customers, staff and suppliers after the lockdown period. These bright, fun chocolates can be personalised with the business/brand logo and/or special offers, discounts and other incentives to encourage reordering and rebooking, and special thank you messaging and contact details including social media, website, telephone and/or address. We can also print QR codes on the wrappers too.
Emotional well-being and giving, thanking and rewarding has also been at the heart of the increased interest over the last 12 months in sending ‘Letterbox Gifts’ designed to fit through letterboxes, arriving packed full of personalised chocolates and sweets sent direct to customers, staff and suppliers through our fulfilment service.

This comes as no surprise to our team as over the last year we have been producing fun designs encouraging resilience and good humour through the stressful lockdowns and uncertainty around COVID-19.
We have also been busy creating special marketing and promotional campaign designs too for our customers wanting to launch new products or services, new online platforms and remote events and conferences etc and/or stimulate sales.

Meet… Natalie Atkinson (Managing Director, Delvaux Ltd)
Natalie is the Managing Director of Delvaux Ltd, a family-owned business originally founded in 1985 by her mother Monique as a division of Rombouts Coffee. Natalie leads the ‘delicious marketing ideas’ team at Delvaux, experts in helping Delvaux’s clients to use personalisation and gifting as ‘edible advertising’.
Since Delvaux’s early days supplying petit fours to Restaurants and Hotels and supplying retailers such as the House of Fraser, Conran and Harvey Nichols with luxury chocolates, glace fruits, nougats and nuts, Delvaux has developed into a thriving independent business supplying personalised chocolates (Neapolitans and Petit Chocs) and confectionery in individual wrappers printed with messaging, logo, special offers and promotions etc.
